Tweaking Your Affiliate Promotions for Greater Profits
Learn from my mistake!
I have about 30 affiliate promotions currently running right now. Recently, I decided I would tweak my landing pages, presell copy, pay per click campaigns, etc.
I had 3 or 4 ideas that I thought would make a positive difference. The problem was, I implemented all the ideas at the same time!
Big mistake.
What ended up happening was my daily earnings went down and I was left struggling trying to decide exactly which idea(s) resulted in the dip.
If you want to tweak your affiliate campaigns, implement one idea at a time, measure the results and then re-evaluate. If you find the tweak hurts your campaigns, undo the changes and implement the next idea.
And it’s important you give your campaigns enough time to run before you make a decision.
In the case of my campaigns, I rolled back my changes to start from scratch and now I’m starting to implement each idea one by one.
Unfortunately, I wasted a lot of time — and some money — but it was a lesson learned!
By the way, I’m testing two Google Adwords tweaks. The first is trying to improve my ad’s call to action.
The second tweak is cutting the fat out of my keyword lists by pausing the broad matches of the keyword phrases that aren’t super specific (this is my attempt at reducing the number of non-relevant junk clicks I get).
And while on the topic of Google Adwords, here’s an awesome resource of Adwords tips from Google Lady. Enjoy!
Cheers,
Ryan

Cool, always learning new things here =)
I would like it if you post something about how you get rid of the ‘junk clicks’.
Thanks Jonathan
I will add your request to my list of “to blog about”.
Getting rid of junk clicks in ppc is definitely worth going into in more detail.
Cheers,
Ryan
