If you’re doing any pay per click advertising, it’s crucial that you track your keywords so you know which ones convert into sales AND which ones don’t.

There’s a ton of paid options, but there’s no reason to spend your hard-earned money because Wes Mahler has created two FREE keyword-tracking applications.

The one I’ve started using is called Prosper202.

Prosper202 is the self-hosted version which means you install it yourself. It takes a bit of effort in getting it set up, but it’s honestly not bad at all.

And I’ve gotten the chance to get to know Wes a little bit in UberCamp and he’s a good guy, always willing to help if you run into issues.

The other application he created is called Tracking202. It’s exactly like Prosper202, but it’s the hosted version, which means they host it on their servers so there’s no installation required.

The only downside to Tracking202 is that the 202 guys could see what keywords are converting for you. Not that I think they WOULD do that, but they could if they wanted to.

So you should definitely check out one of these free keyword-tracking applications.

It’s crucial to the long term success of your campaigns. You need to know which keywords are your winners so you can focus on them and expand.
