Online Affiliate Marketing Spending Will Continue to Grow

This was the title of a study just done by Jupiterresearch — it appeared in the DMA eNewsletter yesterday (DMA stands for Direct Marketing Association).

Here’s the actual blurb:

“Online marketers will spend $2.1 billion this year on affiliate marketing fees, with US online affiliate marketing spending reaching $3.3 billion by 2012, according to JupiterResearch’s “US Online Affiliate Marketing Forecast, 2007-2012.” According to the research firm, affiliate marketing remains a highly attractive endeavor because it is performance-based, presents low risk and requires low initial investment.”

This is good news for us affiliate marketers — $3.3 billion by 2012. That’s a lot of dough to go around for all of us.

According to this article, companies are starting to see the value of having affiliates promote their products and services.

As a result, I see more and more companies adding an affiliate program to their business…which creates more opportunities for us. And I see companies putting more effort into helping their affiliates make as much money as possible.

It’s a good time to be an affiliate marketer! At least through 2012.

;-)

Cheers,
Ryan
