How to Blog for Dollars

Blogging is an excellent way to present your affiliate products through meaningful content. By writing interesting blog entries, you’ll attract viral traffic by becoming a reliable source of valuable information.

A professional-looking blog can be easily set up using a free resource such as WordPress — in fact, this blog uses Wordpress.

After your blog is completely set up and ready for content, you’ll want to find the right keywords to use in your posts so people will find you when they search.

A free resource you can use to check how frequently certain keywords are searched for is Keyword Playground at Webconfs.com.

Once you start posting, you’ll want to aim for a good keyword density within your content. Density is the percentage the keywords appear in your article and can be checked by using the free cut-and-paste resource at Live-Keyword-Analysis.com.

The ideal density for your blog entry is 3 to 5 percent. Using keywords more frequently may be considered search engine spamming and cause your page to rank lower.

Here’s the most important part:

The content you write needs to be original, compelling and should not resemble articles on other websites.

If your writing skills aren’t strong, consider outsourcing to a professional writer through websites such as Elance or iFreelance. It’s free to post your job and you’ll be surprised at how affordable it can be.

Finally, you’ll want to get the word out about your blog by linking to other blogs and tapping into the variety of social networks such as:

  • Digg
  • Facebook
  • StumbleUpon
  • Netscape
  • Reddit
  • MySpace
  • Technorati
  • and Del.icico.us.

By connecting with other websites and bloggers, you’ll drive more traffic to your blog and increase your affiliate marketing revenue.

Talk to you soon,
