Focus On Your First Affiliate Sale
Have you made a few affiliate sales — or even just one — but now you’re in a rut with no end in sight?
I’m taking myself back to 2006. I had been working in MLM for 2 years and my highest monthly check was $100. I was constantly frustrated and constantly annoyed by answering “how’s your Internet business going?” — mainly because it wasn’t going well.
And then I bought the eBook The Rich Jerk and everything changed. It introduced me to the concept of affiliate marketing — specifically, advertising targeted landing pages with pay per click.
I remember the feeling of making a few sales and thinking “wow, is this really going to work?“.
If this is the situation you’re in, but now you’re in a rut and you feel the few sales you made were just luck, please take a step back.
Remember: often times the hardest sale to make is your first sale.
So grab a pen and paper and ask yourself:
1. How did you make your first sale?
2. What was the specific method you used?
3. Can you duplicate this method?
4. How can you improve on this method?
5. Can you expand this method to other niches?
Brainstorming the answers to the questions above will get your creative juices flowing. If you’re in a rut, however, you may not feel motivated enough to put a solid effort into this exercise.
But force yourself if you have to.
Because if you made 1 sale, you can make 100 — it’s just a matter of figuring out specifically what worked for you and then duplicating and building on it.
Note: if you haven’t made a sale yet, I’ll be writing a post soon with ideas on how to make your first sale.
Cheers,
Ryan
